ATP - The Stickmen and Harmony

The Stickmen are an old Hobart band who I'd heard about well before I heard their music. Via Tasmanian housemates and friends I got my hands on their albums from when they used to exist back in the mid 90's. They hadn't played since. 

Finally, after something like 14 years, last Sunday, they played at ATP at the request of The Drones. 

So good!

Next up on the same stage, Harmony came on played their own stellar set. 

Fewer of them are Tasmanians, but there's still a lot of heads.

The Tote's Last Stand - Drones and Joel Silbersher

At the end of the night's glorious sets, Joel Silbersher got on stage with the Drones to perform My Pal. The place erupted with such a thrilling surge of rock and roll emotion, it was as if God had come to personally administer the last rites.

So, in between a soundcheck and a a gig at the Corner Hotel a few years back, I went with Gareth from The Drones out the back and took some photos for an article for Mess+Noise Magazine. It was published quite a while ago now... but I thought I'd put the pics on me newly formed blog.
